Wow! reminds me of O'Henry's story about the last leaf.
That's a lot of fallen fruit. Love the juxtaposition adds a lot of impact.

It amazes me how the fruit from wild or untended apple trees piles on the ground, wasted. Some of that fruit may still be good to eat. Did you take any?

Great shot.

calr!

I am sorry for not having been her for a while and for not having answered you properly.

No, I did not take any. It's too much, everywhere in most gardens it looks like this nowadays. The reason is this.

I live in a popular recreational area where town-people (from 100 miles away) have bought up most of the older houses along the coast, including old apple-trees in the gardens, and use these houses for holydays and some week-ends only.

For most of the time, these places are only populated during summer-time (May - August) and rarely ever after September. The apples are usually not ripe until the end of September until end of October, so nobody collects them.

Seems like there is a bit too much money and not enough time or to bother, causing this apple-chaos.

On the other hand, every night there are deers and moose visiting thes gardens and having a good time. Five years ago, there was this big moose eating himself silly with rotting and fermenting apples and, because of the fruit-sugar beeing converted to alcohol, got plain drunk!

He was really behaving like a drunk, rampaging garden furnitures, gas-grills, hedges and garbage-dumpsters and when he finally attaked parked cars, the authority had to be called and they had to shoot him!

That last Apple looks so lonely and forgotten.
