Default Seasonal Change

Can't think of a bigger indicator of seasonal change than the lighting displays popping up everywhere.

Bob,
Very nice exposure. You're right they're beginning to dot the night sky here.

Excellent job exposing this shot. Youre expertise was needed in another thread by someone asking exactly how to do this.

I think this is absolutely the best photo of a Christmas light display I have ever seen. The exposure is perfect and it is very sharp. I have never had Christmas light shots turn out anywhere near this good. Please tell us how you did it.

Thank you all very much! Cal, the credit for this shot goes to my D-90 and the Tokina 11-16 2.8 lens. I wish I could have gotten there at twilight so I could have got the silhouette of the roof line. These were hand held, there was no wind and I was quite lucky to hold the camera still, here is the exif info.

There is only one comment from me, Bob - Perfection!

Incredible details, crisp sharpness and beautiful color - a tribute to your two best tools - the D90 + Tokina 11-16mm - Pluss of course your eyes!!

Well done, Bob!

P.S.: I see from your EXIF-Data that you shot these exposures at ISO: 1000 - thats quite a high ISO, without any noise in the dark sky? Did you "clean" the exposures somehow with a special software?

Thank you Walter! I did a slight noise reduction but really didn't need to, the D-90 excells at these kind of photos. Here are the untouched originals.

Wow, the shots came out great, the exposure is right on the money.
I'm going to try shooting Christmas lights again this year, just hope they come out like your shots.
