Excellent background. You win for most triangles. And nice shot of the truck as well.

Thanks Ordo and Bynx. First time I did shaped bokeh..do you think a bigger triangle cutout would of been better? Did one with Christmas treelights which gave me colored circles....liked the triangle one the best.

Nice job. Is that a Franklin Mint model? I have several of their fire engines.

Thanks Cal-no not a FM--Ertl..had about 200 truck banks, fire engines, tractors but gave them all to the grandkids except a few.
Bynx-cut a black piece of paper or thin cradboard a bit bigger than your lens--then dead center cut a triangle of any shape about the size of little finger nail or bit smaller. You want it no bigger than what your actual aperture size is--I seen a formula somewhere for figuring the actual size-gotta find again but finger nail size thing is about right. Then tape it so the shape is dead center of your lens and then shoot. Using biggest is best aperture-like a 1.8 or 2.8. But my lens doesnt go that big and I think this was f4 or 4.5. Did about 100 shots and 6 hrs paying with different settings flash and etc. I read and gonna try-the original circle you cut for the lens-cut a bigger square than what you need and then on separate pieces of paper cut your different shapes and tape to the original circle and then to your lens.

Oops forgot..hang christms tree lights behind and suppsoe to get colored shaped bokeh but I couldnt get to work-think had the lights to close in backgorund but I crumpled a piece of tin foil and then straightened back out and used that for background...that is what used in above shot.

Dennis,
That's neat although getting there sounds like it was painful. However, nothing ventured nothing gained.
Nice work.
Aloha
