Default Aerial Boundaries-Headin North

Geese been headin north in big flocks for a few weeks now. Tho way up there the smaller flocks of a couple hundred are lower than the bigger flocks of thousands and thousands...some of the bigger flocks takes 15-20 minutes to go over...its amazing to see so many.

Wonderful sight. I assume the off-focus is primarily due to the extreme telephoto and shooting upwards aginst the sky.

Yes not very clear but they were so far up, this was a 100% crop out of the middle of the photo.

Many of these snow geese wintered in Arkansas, and I was at a nearby wildlife preserve a couple of months ago when one of these huge flocks lifted off. Just the noise of the wings and honking was deafening.

We all know that when these birds migrate they fly in a "V" formation. Todays trivia, do you know why when they fly in a "V" one side is longer than the other??? You need to know your math to know the answer???
