Default Making music - Old "Olds"

I used to play cornet in several brass bands "back in the day". Here's an Olds Ambassador cornet that I've had for quite a while...manufactured in Elkhart, Indiana.

And, another angle. BTW, a cornet is a shorter version of the trumpet, and has a mellower sound.

That's neat Walter. I've never used an Olds. But, I used to have a King Silvertone Trumpet, as well as a Conn Constellation Cornet. I'm afraid I don't have them anymore.

My brother-in-law actually bought me a trumpet as a present not that long ago when he heard me mentioning playing trumpet and cornet when I was younger.

But, I'm afraid that I'm so out of practice that the neighbors might complain if they heard me, even if my wife could tolerate it. Of course, I could blame it on the mouthpiece not fitting me correctly, versus my lip muscles being very out of shape. :-)

Walter,
You're a man of many talents for sure.
Despite it's age the coronet looks in lovely condition.
Thanks for sharing.
Aloha

I like the colors in the first shot better but I like the composition of the second one better. Now, play us a tune. Believe it or not, you can attach music files (.mp3, .wav, etc.) to posts in this forum.
