Default The Letter B: Beach Band Beauty...

in Black.

Taken yesterday near the pier. She is lead singer for a punk rock group that was performing.

Great shot Walter, You really captured her eyes. I know a lot of folks don't care for it, but she has some nice art work also.

Cal, I didn't think I needed permission in a public setting...unless I intended to try to sell the photo. Could you clarify?

I have always been under the impression that photography of professional performers was either prohibited or required permission from the performer(s).

That's a very interesting question that Cal brings up. I did a little searching and the synopsis from Wired magazine below seems to be a good general guide.

Having read the article over twice, I dont see anything that covers the photo here. No one is promoting anything so there is no indorsement of any kind or implied. Even personalities get photographed and posting their photo is like posting anyone else's.

Exactly. If the group is performing on the Santa Monica pier ( a public place) then I think one could assume that there is a reasonable expectation that someone might have a camera and thus no copyright infringement. At least, that's my take.
