The specimens in these displays are always so brightly coloured and/or beautifully patterned. Nice one selvin.

I thought Lepidoptera was grasshoppers, crickets, etc. Since I must be wrong, what is the class of these jumping insects?

Great shot, Selvin, but it comes close to my personal rule against shooting other people's artwork. Although this is a scientific display, it is also very artfully done.

Apparently they're orthoptera Cal. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthoptera

Beautiful array, Selvin! Lovely colours and I like the 'curve'

Reminds me of the butterfly house I visited in Phuket, Thailand.

vsch1, calr, pj1974, onlooker,

Thank you very much. I've been to a number of butterfly exhibits and this one is among if not the best.

Hello selvin,
thats a nice image, wonderful colors and I like the arrangement, too. I don't have many chances to go to butterfly exhibits as for some strange reason my daughter seems to worry about them if they come to close and are too confiding/tame.

Maybe the same thing as with birds, some people like it to have them sit on their head, shoulder, arm etc. - some not /shrug

Anyway, thanks for sharing!

Th.
