Default Geometry in Composition -- Seattle

Bynx, I want you to know that these are all new shots!

My wife and I spent several days in the Seattle area this past week. I shot nearly 200 photos while there and here a few I think are good for the challenge. The weather was cloudy most of the time we were there or these shots would be better.

DAZ should recognize this one. This is a sculpture up on Queen Anne hill northwest of the Seattle city center. We have circles, ellipses, rectangles and squares represented here.

Here is the sculpture used as a frame for the Space Needle.

This oddity is located downtown adjacent to Pioneer Square. It is a parking garage set between two intersecting streets with 19% grades. As far as I know, the floors in this structure are level. (Triangles, rectangles)

Lastly, we have a shot from the monorail station at Seattle Center looking at Paul Allen's Experience Music Project "Building?". (Arcs, Spheres, Cylinders)

Hope I didn't put you to sleep!

I usually donít care for abstract art but this sculpture is one I like. It is probably because it is based on geometry. I like how you have captured it especially the second photo.

Even though I donít live in Seattle I do recognize the buildings. EMP in my opinion is about the ugliest building ever built (at least the ugliest in Seattle but there is some first class architecture in Seattle) and I think your photo is one of the best photos of it I have ever seen. You may have the best of what the building can be photographed.

By the way the sun came out today.

A camera is a machine of light and time with the purpose of capturing a luminous moment. Like the eye it is a tool of the mind.

Hi Cal

I particularly like photo 2. The dof isn't ideal (either more dof or more oof, imho). (Oh how we love to talk / write in acronyms!) :-)

However it's still a great shot. I love the power of the space needle amongst the other more 'conservatively' shaped buildings.

Also, I find photo 3 like an Escher artwork! Nice.

Thanks, everyone. It was a very enjoyable trip except for the Seattle traffic! We had a chance to see Queen Anne Hill, Seattle Center, Pikes Place Market (twice), the waterfront, Bellevue Square Mall in Bellevue, the Seattle Underground City tour, and a small part of Renton where our hotel was located.
