Default Hunh?????

This is an archive shot but definitely not staged.

I ran across this oddity a couple of years ago and had to study things a bit before I figured out what happened. The image has NOT been reversed or mirrored.

If you can't figure out what happened, scroll down for the answer....

There was another building on the lot in the foreground. That building was constructed before the building you see in the photo. The Coca-Cola sign was painted on the back of it. Some time later, the building you see was constructed back to back, in contact with the original building. Over the years, the Coca-Cola sign "imprinted" on the newer building. When the original building was demolished, this is what was visible on the back wall of the newer building. I don't know if the imprint of the sign is still there or not since a new building has been built on the lot in the foreground.

There is something else on that wall besides the Coca-Cola sign. I can't make out what it is. It is in large block letters. I reversed the image in PSPPX3 and tried to see if I could bring out the letters but I failed. I would be interested in seeing if anyone else can make out those large block letters.

If you look closely, you can see some faint white block lettering behind the Coke sign. The letters are about the same height as the Coke sign.

OK, I see that there is something, but it is extremely difficult to make out. Looks like one of the words may be 'food' or 'foods'. I reversed the photo and tweaked the Coca Cola logo to try to reduce the overlay somewhat, but still can't get much out of it. It would make a good challenge for the Extreme Makeover forum. Some of the folks here are very talented with restoration.

Hi Bynx, I see you changed your mind. It is definitely not John Deere. The letters that are most visible don't fit. I have been trying a lot of different techniques to bring out the background and reduce the Coca-Cola sign but I have had no success. I think i will post the photo in the Extreme Makeover forum and see what they can do with it.
