Default Give Us Your Favorites--Three I Like

These are 3 of my favorite shots for 2010.
The first is a sunset at one of the coves at Milford Lake a few miles from my home.
The second is a view from an antique bi-plane of another area of Milford Lake. I'm still not sure what was more exciting, to get to ride in the plane or getting some great shots of the lake from a new perspective.
The third is of some awesome hoar frost. There were amazing ice crystals everywhere that morning. This was on the bike rack on top of my car. I liked the look in black and white.

All very nice shots. Love the color on the second. The bright colors on the plane really pop against the natural colors of the landscape.

Tell me more about the hoar frost. What is the weather like when it develops?

+1 vsch1. Second shot is great. Love it. There's a sense of movement and highness.

Isn't hoar frost spectacular--It forms very occasionally in Kansas when it's between 25 and 30 degrees, there is a heavy fog and most importantly there is absolutely no wind. (and in Kansas absolutely no wind doesn't happen that often!)
Here is one more photo of an evergreen tree in my yard--in color this time.

I could get to love hoar frost based on your pics EXCEPT the cold temperatures necessary.
I agree the first two shots are denifinitely winners.

That's a particularly awesome hue of orange on the 1st shot, I like it.

2nd photo - a real winner with the 'height' perspective and feel of banking over in an old plane (cool!)

Hoar-frost, have seen a few times in Romania up close (didn't have a macro back then) - but you've captured it well. Often hard to do, as there can be so much similar coloured hoarfrost around, important to contrast with the background.

Cheers - well done!
