Default Animal Antics - Elk Looking for Camera

This was taken a couple of years ago in the Smoky Mountains. While hiking we spotted two elk cows grazing beside the trail. We stopped grabbed our cameras and started shooting. The Elk continued to come closer and closer to us, then this one started to chew on my camera bag. How do you stop a 800lb elk from eating your camera gear?

Judging by the ear tags and the radio collar, somebody doesn't want to lose track of this girl.

I'm jealous! Your camera bag has two velcro straps. Mine only has one (unless the other is in my box of spare camera bag parts)!

The elk were reintroduced to the Smokies about 10 years ago. Most of the elk are tagged and collared. Over the past couple of years, they have stopped tagging the bulls, but still tag most cows to keep track of birthrates.

This bag is the expedition 5, I have since had to upgrade to the expedition 7. Great bag/backpacks. I've done many long hikes with them.
