Default Point A to Point B

After reading the challenge, I'm not sure this picture qualifies. So rather than asking the question under the topic, I thought I'd post the picture and ask if it does or not. When I first read the topic "Point A to Point B" I thought of something like this, where the path leads you from the volcanic crater edge down into the stark empty land beyond it.

But then the rest of the discussion of the topic is about movement/transportation, not a way to lead someone into or out of a picture, but the actual getting there itself. To me there's a fine line difference, but perhaps the topic is supposed to be broad enough to encompass both points of view. Is this perhaps too pointed a question? (sorry, couldn't resist, I'm tired and have a cold, it brings out the worst in my humor).

So perhaps this picture fits the topic better?

Both pictures were taken the same day, about 2 weeks ago. I'd like to look around for something more for this topic (I have some other ideas), but wonder if the first one fits the topic or not.

These photos are great and I think they meet the challenge very well.

I don't know how others will interpret this, but I think it gets the message across quite well. Very nice starter for this thread as I was a bit unclear on what was being asked as well.

Well done

I think Vanessa, in her challenge description, left it pretty wide open for a variety of interpretations.

Yes Cal, most of my challlenges are open to interpretation. I do that because I always enjoy what others post with minimal direction.

Thanks! I had great fun the day I took these. While these were taken before the challenge, the first one especially was taken with the point A to point B topic in mind (even if it hadn't been suggested yet). This is such a wonderful topic and very timely for me.

Both pictures were taken in Death Valley, for those who might be interested.
