Default Bodies in Motion - Enticing a couch potato

Nintendo has come out with a new game system and my son has been bugging me about this "allowance" concept he heard about So I broke out the lawn mower for him and it gave me some time to take some pictures.

Nice capture, I like the lighting in this. Good to see you are instilling values into your son (work = dollars)...

banksy, thanks for taking a look. I had taken one earlier when he was more in the shadows between ours and the neighbor's house that I didn't like, so I waited until he came out of the shadow and grabbed that one. Glad you liked it.

The funny thing was that after he finished he asked how much he was getting, and my wife pointed out that he probably should have negotiated that beforehand

Thanks for comments!

Ah! Lessons learned.

Nice shot. That mower is almost bigger than he is and it appears to be a bit older, also, since it doesn't have the emergency blade stop when you let go of the handle.

calr: Thanks for looking. I wondered if anybody would pick up on that. Here's a little wider angle, and you'll see the emergency blade stop is when the boy stops You're right though, it is almost bigger than he is, it takes him quite a bit of oomph to get it going. But he persevered, I think he's going to earn that DS yet.

Great 2nd photo. You're really making him work. I couldn't get my son to use a rider mower much less an old rotary.

calr, Zig: Heh, yep they still make them. I had a riding lawn mower before I moved, but I also had a bigger yard, so I got rid of it and got this rotary one. I like it, but I wouldn't want any bigger yard than what I have. You'll have to ask my son in a couple weeks how big he wants the yard to be
