Default Backlighting - Wedding

Here are a couple of archive shots from a wedding I was in. Now I will sit back and wait to see all the great pics everyone else will be posting.

Tika...,

I'm going to go out on a limb here. In a sense both pics are backlighted since light even from the side can qualify as backlighting.
However (you knew that was oming didn't you) The BW shot hovers so close to a silhoutte that my aging eyes wish that you were taking the picture more level with her face to give more highlights to her hair and create a tad better effect. Yes, I know you only get one chance and it wasn't posed, but then again as usual don't you wish...

The color shot is also marginally a backlighting. Thanks for being a pioneer in submitting.

There's a lot of info in the b&w. A pass through Martins autohdr and some PE tweaking:

Just because the backs of the subjects are illuminated does not automatically make these backlighted photos. In these cases, from the camera perspective, the light from the windows is illuminating the left side of the people and not the side away from the camera.

These are interesting shots, but, in my opinion, they are not back lit shots.
