The first photo (trees) definitely shows the effects of backlighting, especially the tree in the foreground. However, the second shot, although an excellent silhouette, shows none.

I call it as I see it.

Its OK Calr, I think I misunderstood part of the challenge. I was thinking that a silhouette would be a product of backlighting. Only translucent objects can be directly illuminated from backlight, illuminated solid objects would have to be lit from other objects reflecting the backlight.

I would think that one would consider the clouds to be backlit. Nice shot in any event.
