Default polarizers

OK Cal. I gave it a try. I used a circular polarizer on my 300mm f/2.8 lens. the subject could have been better but it is a very heavy lens to carry around.

I don't see that much difference between the two shots. Did you try rotating the ring to achieve maximum effect? A polarizing filter has two parts--one that screws into the filter ring of the lens, and a second part that can rotate 360 to select the best effect.
Where was the sun relative to this shot? If the sun was overhead or behind you, a polarizer will have little or no effect.

OH, the sun was behind me. My polarizer fits into a slot on the lens itself. I did rotate it but did not see much difference. I will try again. Thanks.

Here are 2 more. I do not think I have a real polarizer on either lens. One turns and the other just stays like a UV filter. But this is the best I got.

Caryl, I share your pain. I have a polarizing filter and never use it. One time I forgot I had it on and couldn't figure out why my indoor low light shots were almost black. Now I get whatever I need from post processing anyway. So this challenge is gonna be tough for me... I'll dig it out and see what I can come up with, no promises... :-)
