Default Birds, Birds, Birds

I took both these pictures a couple of days ago. My thistle socks and tube feeders attract a lot of goldfinches and tons of house finches. Recently we are seeing so many of the house finch babies--they are so little and totally cute with their fluffy baby feathers.

Wonderful shots. The second bird looks like she either just finished a bath or narrowly escaped a cat. LOL.

Nice job.

We're seeing a lot of the young finches with "fluffy" feathers like this. I think they just haven't shed all their "baby" downy feathers yet. There are SO many of them. I think they like all our finch socks, the nearby timber and my homemade bird bath. It has been terribly hot here this summer, water is a big draw for them too. I like to think that a lot of the little ones might not have survived without our help.

Hi Spedangie

The detail and composition of #1 really make it a winner, imho.

Photo #2 shows that cute fluffy / baby feathers well.

thanks for sharing, spedangie. I'm glad you could provide some water for them in the heat too. (I do the same here in the summer).
