Default White on White

Orchids...hard to blend the white background and still be able to see the details of the white subject.

Thanks, Walter. I wish I could bounce the flash enough to avoid the over exposure at the very top.

If the flash head does not tilt up, perhaps you could rig a white card at a 45 angle to reflect the light toward the ceiling. Another solution would be to use a split neutral density filter to darken the top.

This has the potential to be an outstanding shot if you can tame the white spot.

The BI flash does not tilt up and I think it would be very tricky to use a card on such a small flash to bounce off the light. Now the split density filter is an idea worth pursuing...I'll have to buy of of those guys. Thanks for the suggestions, Cal.

I've found photographing white orchid especially phals as you have are a tough challenge.
You've given me new motivation to out and try again.
