Default White on White- Cup and Foam...

Curious challenge- rummaged round the kitchen for this one...!

Interesting subject. Did you apply the sepia treatment or is that how the shot came out of the camera? If it came out of the camera that way, I think you need to apply some exposure compensation--maybe +0.5 or more. This might also be a White Balance issue. Try adjusting the WB to remove the orange tint.

It does not look like sepia was applied as it produces a much browner tone. I totally agree with the WB handling the flash light. Another possibility is that the OP's monitor need calibrating and what looks white for him, looks pinkish/orange for us. Lastly, I'd have filled the cup with the peanuts.

Yes,the odd tint is odd- and I actually desaturated it a great deal...!
No flash used- just the kitchen light..!

I think they are called Styrofoam peanuts, aren't they? I agree w/ Cal that the problem is with the WB rendering.
