Default On the street we live - two extremes

What's so special about this shot, you may ask. What's special is, this is Los Angeles! The only time I've seen snow stick in 40+ years I've lived here. It only lasted for about 30 minutes. From a few years ago....

This is what we are used to, standing on the same street watching brush fire come over the hill. Water dropping helicopters came immediately and doused it out...

I remember hearing lots of people at work talking about the snow. And I do understand watching smoke rising over a nearby ridge - I keep a couple of boxes of old family photos packed, ready to grab if we are evacuated.

Wow,
There's got to be a lot of surprised folks in LA back then.

Certainly an unusual (well captured) scene.

Hi Saly

You've displayed the contrast very well. It was good that you captured the snow as such a rare occurance!

The brush fire 'across the ridge' does give an ominous feel to it!!

Thanks for sharing. I like the tall thin conifers.

Thanks all, yes the snow (mixed with hale) caught us by surprise, and people drove very badly in it....

Paul - those Italian Cyprus trees mark our property line, also large birds of pray love to perch on top while looking for lunch.
