Default The dark side: golden frog

We were out 'frogging' the other night with our torches. This little green frog on his lilly-pad was given the midas touch by using a dolphin torch instead of the LED.

Thought it might meet this challenge to some degree.

I have to ask what is a Dolphin torch! I know that the British/Australian term for a flashlight (USA) is a torch but I am not familiar with this one.

vsch1, what you do when out 'frogging' depends on your purpose. Ours was to get photos, but friends are a zoologist and a biologist. They photograph, record the calls, count and map where they find their frogs - then write a scientific paper. (No, we're not into gourmet cooking!)

Cal, a dolphin brand torch is a heavy duty, sometimes floatable torch popular for camping, fishing etc and has a 9v battery see this advert http://www.getprice.com.au/Energizer...--35077792.htm As you can see this torch give a light with an orange cast. The LED torch gave a clear light.

We got a stack of photos and I'll hopefully be posting a selection in the wildlife forum later.

Cheers

Bernice
