Default Smile -- Annie

Selvin, just to be sure, you said "someone or something".

Many people say dogs don't/can't smile. Others say they smile with their tails. While the latter is definitely true, as for the former, I say hogwash!

You decide.

Cal,

I was the one who actually said "Somone or something", old timers disease at it again.
Like you, I do think dogs smile in their own way. I think your shot just about proves it.
Incidentally my phrasing was deliberate to include even non-animate objects.

My bad. I just assumed it was Vanessa. I edited the post and put the correct name in.

A "Classy Lassie", Calr. Sharp and great colors. Love the smile.

I'd say some dogs are particularly handsome & natural 'smilers' (whereas others find it more of a 'struggle' to smile ... eg pugs, boxers, etc)

What a beautiful capture here, Cal! Truly classic Lassie look... ah, the memories.

Thanks for sharing!

No HDR. No texture. Just a slight saturation boost and a slight sharpness boost. This was taken on a beach on the Oregon coast (don't remember which) and the background is a retaining wall made from heavy timber.

Incidentally, for those who don't know, Annie is a Sheltie/Shetland Sheepdog and is currently 8.5 years old. She is extremely well behaved, very gentle and she loves everybody. Anyone who will pay attention to her is her "newest best friend!"
