I like the mission and the Getty museum the most, although all are good.

Cool shots! I also like the Getty museum picture. But I also like the Descanso Gardens picture - can't believe how long I lived in Glendale and Tujunga and never visited it. Maybe one of these days I'll wander that direction again. Looks like fall would be a great time to visit.

Wonderful shots. Very well composed. The second San Fernando Mission really captures my attention with the door being half open.

Thanks vsch, Cal and Selvin!

mtngal - We must have been neighbors at one time! The SF Mission isn't very interesting, very small place and since it was rebuilt after the 1971 earth quake the buildings are new and not "quaint". Both Getty Museums (Brentwood and Malibu) are breathtaking, but the one in Malibu where this was shot is a must for photographers. I work in La Canada, so I go to Descanso and the LA Arboretum in Santa Anita about once a week during my lunch break!

Good heavens, we probably were! The LA Arboretum is another place I haven't been to since a kid, wonder if they still have any peacocks? I know they got completely out of hand at one point and were sold off (some to the residents in Arcadia that had more or less adopted them). People from other neighboring areas used to drive around the streets, just to see the peacocks.

One of these days I'll head down that direction - it isn't all that far for me. In fact, I did drive down one Saturday this past spring when they re-opened the Angeles National Forest. I wanted to try photographing Millard Falls using a tripod and a slow shutter speed, but the trail was still closed. Another place I keep meaning to visit is Huntington Library's garden. Hmmm, so many places to visit and such little time to visit them all!
