My current theory on why red is so difficult is that it throws off the auto white balance. I got these looking exactly like they are in real life but I was doing these for a photography class I'm doing and so I spent some time setting the white balance properly. I also think the white balance seems to react differently depending on the exposure so to get it spot on you have to set the correct exposure first, then set the white balance.

So, how did you set the WB here? Did you choose a particular Kevin value of you adjust GM/BY?

I set it in the camera using a white card. You get the shutter and aperture right and then tell the camera you want to set the white balance. Then you just have to take a photo of something white.
