![]() I took this picture today, there were lots of families spending Father's Day at Pyramid Lake. Here's a father trying to do it all, and a wayward charge who wants to go swimming in the worst sort of way. |

That's a beautiful weimaraner! Great photo mtngal. There'll certainly be plenty of aquatic action if he gets away.

Cal - the lake is actually a reservoir, part of the California Aqueduct system that provides water for southern California. They have very strict rules about boating, swimming and dogs, and all of the dog owners I saw were very careful to abide by them. Also, while the lake is pretty big, its very, very popular. There was a constant stream of water craft of all sizes putting into the water, a loose dog in the water would be a hazard. In addition, there are few beaches, the lake is in a canyon with steep sides much of the way around it.
