Wonderful shots! What a neat little critter. At first glance there's similarities with our desert lizards, only they wouldn't be anywhere near water. And your water dragon looks larger.

He was only half grown mtngal and I was able to get up quite close.

Apparently they don't need webs saly. They swim most efficiently and extremely quickly.
