Default Churches and Graveyards Pretty Not.

Inside Bethlehem Baptist Church in Stella Louisiana as it is being gutted from being flooded.

This is a crop of a stitched photo taken in top of the levee next to the Mississippi river. The river is to the back of the camera.

This is up the road from the church. The graveyard is to the left of the house and the road. The big things on the left side of the road are crypts.

Painting is an additive art. The artist adds to the canvas until they stop with their version of reality. Digital photography is subtractive art. First we throw away 90 percent of reality then remove what is left bit by bit until we have only the reality we wish to show. Flickr is like fun. PPG is like work. A camera is a machine of light and time with the purpose of capturing a luminous moment. Like the eye it is a tool of the mind.

These images together really tell a story...nothing is safe from the strength of a storm.
