Alcoves in the ruins of the Mission San Juan Capistrano Great Stone Church. Three rows of three, postprocessed in PSE (converted to B&W, applied Lighting Effects filters, border from On One FrameIt plugin):

It will be interesting to see what others prefer. I like the first one, always like b&w. I'm not that crazy about the border, think I'd prefer it a little narrower (not lose as much of the picture as you did here), but that's just my taste.

Actually, I thought the border of the first one gave more of a ghostly effect, materializing through the mist, while the second emphasized the harsher ruined nature of the wall, like peering at it through a ragged hole in another wall. I like the first one better, too.

I like the original. The black and white with the uneven borders leaves the image flat while the original still has some depth.

Prefer the second. The color has a disttracting line running across the pic.
You seemed to have cropped most of this out of the second.
The second has more depth than the first

Here is a larger crop - that "distracting line" is a cable of some sort that doesn't seem to go anywhere - perhaps it has some stabilizing function.
