The Holidays kind of depend on were one is at the time.

Painting is an additive art. The artist adds to the canvas until they stop with their version of reality. Digital photography is subtractive art. First we throw away 90 percent of reality then remove what is left bit by bit until we have only the reality we wish to show. Flickr is like fun. PPG is like work. A camera is a machine of light and time with the purpose of capturing a luminous moment. Like the eye it is a tool of the mind. |

Oops, I meant mention that this is Hawaii. The palm trees in the globe should be a clue. The last is a sand sculpture of a Hawaiian Santa and his Hawaiian elves. It is kind of strange (to someone not from Hawaii) to walk around with all the holiday decorations that, outside of Hawaii, are associated with cold dark not 80s and sunny. Although down in Australia it is summer now.

I really like that last one. I know what you mean about it being strange to see Christmas decorations when it's warm outside, though that's the norm for me.
