The waves were really pounding today at Sunset Beach Hawaii and many of the beach roads were jammed with onlookers. Still not high and consistent enough for the Eddie Aikau surf meet but monstrous enough for lifeguards to tell everyone stay out of the ocean unless you were a professional surfer.

Your water is the most beautiful color! There's something very calming about the sound of surf, and while I wouldn't think there is anything calming about that particular surf, it makes me want to visit the beach.

Amazing turquoise water! The color almost makes you forget the power of those waves!

MtnGal, Tullio, and SpedAngie,
Thanks for your comments. The water is that blue. No color corrections were made. The spray at the top is often called "Rooster Tails" for obvious reasons. |

Wave01, paniolo, MVAsteve ,
Yes, Ted's bakery was only moments away but we rushed to see the waves pounding Pupukea instead. Then went on to Waimea Bay and Haleiwa. All had great vantage points to see some really heavy surf from the shoreline. There were surfers only at Waimea and they were quite some distance from shore and parking was non existent as you can imagine. Thanks for your comments. |
