Default Up/Down from the arch

Taken on a visit to St. Louis, the base of the arch looking from the obervation deck at the top. Look carefully and you'll see the shadow of the curvature of the arch.

Having never been to St. Louis, I find this photo to be very busy. As I am typing this, I just figured out the thing across the top is a road/freeway. The light color areas in the center and right side appear to be concrete walkways. I have no idea what the object center left is. There is nothing in the image to relate to it.

I understand your goal was the view from the top and to capture the shadow of the arch but overall, I find the photo to be a failure. This is my opinion and not necessarily the prevailing opinion.

I somewhat agree with Cal regarding how busy the picture is. Perhaps flipping it 90 degrees to the right will make it easier to identify the various objects in it.

Photo follows challenge guideline and although composition is busy I quite like it, almost looks abstract. Agree with Tullio a flip 90 degrees might help the image further.
