Default New Challenge...March 27 to April 9...shadows

Shadows....created or natural.

Where there is light, there is shadow. Is it a photographers worst nightmare?

Now that the sun is spending more time in the sky, let's take advantage.

Quick Read:

Shadows give your images more depth by imparting both, contrast and a third dimension.
The most striking shadows appear when the sun is at a low angle.
Making a shadow the key element of a photograph makes for an unconventional and creative shot.
The basis of silhouette photography requires you to make the subject easily identifiable without highlighting any details.
Long and misshaped or flat and wide shadows can really introduce a new perspective into your images.

"Shadows give your images more depth by imparting both, contrast and a third dimension."

That's the primary reason I dislike heavy HDR processing. It makes images look flat by removing the shadows.
