calr, you are almost correct - I was trying to take a sunset shot but was facing the wrong direction, lol.

Love the shot! The funny thing is that I took one somewhat similar to yours, only at the crater that's not all that much further north. There's something about Death Valley and shadows, I guess.

Thanks for the look Hawgwild and mtngal. Such a beautiful place but was limited by time - day trip out of Las Vegas was too short. Will definitely return.
