Default Noodles - Udon

Just got back from Fukuoka, Japan. This was lunch for my wife at an Udon restaurant in the Tenjin area of Fukuoka. This type of noodles are thick and was told that it was developed in this city. Absolutely delish - ate here twice during our stay. To the left of the noodles is a seafood tempura (battered and fried seafood and veggies) served over rice with a sauce in the container above. Need to take a nap after eating this!

Paniolo,
You're making me hungry. One of the first truly regional dishes I had on my first trip to Japan some 30+ years ago was Udon at a tiny town near Lake Biwa. Your pic brought back memories of that trip.
Looks scrumptious.
