Default Sign - Changing Times?

Here's a sign that is on a family owned store that's been in business for 50 years. At one time their logo, shown here, would tell you exactly what this store sold. I wonder now how many people now would recognize what it represents, especially younger people? I know what it is, I even have one that had been my father's but I've never used it.

Here's their entire store name, to tell you what they sell:

Now that you know what the store sells, how many people here have used what their logo represents?

Oh yeah, a landmark in Westwood, been there many times. One of the few non-chain camera stores around.

Phew- a real anachronism... I use my delayed shutter release and haven't used one of these in years. Nice memory though!

I was disappointed when I discovered that my dSLR wouldn't work with this type of shutter release and that I was going to have to buy a remote. Granted, the remote I have does more, but it's also bigger and clumsier to use. I thought these were always so cool-looking - having one must mean you were a pro.

I've been known to buy things at this camera store (if the savings elsewhere weren't too huge), because I love having them so close at hand. They sales people have been there for years and really know their stuff, great people to talk to who are willing to let you handle the equipment before deciding to buy something. Nothing like being able to handle equipment before you buy, and I think the service is worth a bit extra. I hope they are still in business and making money 50 years from now.
