Default Horticulture - Grape Vine

I looked up the dictionary definition of horticulture because there's a picture I took a number of years ago that I'd like to post. However, it doesn't fit into horticulture, which is defined as "the science and art of growing fruits, vegetables, flowers or ornamental plants."

On the other hand, these immature grapes (I understand they are concord grapes, but don't know about such things) definitely fit the category.

There's a bumper crop this year for the vine, and for once I'd like to eat a few. I'm not sure this will really keep the birds from stripping the vine the instant the grapes are ripe, but I can hope.

I once tried putting strips of aluminum foil on strings all around the vine, but the birds just used the strings to perch on. There's a few grapes starting to turn dark red, so I'll find out soon if the netting works, or if the birds figure out a way around it (the coverage isn't perfect).

G'day mntgal

I am taken by the lighting giving the roundness & form to the grapes & leaves
The colour is 'gentle' as well - hmmm like #1 real-well

Thank you both for your comments. I really like the first photo, thought it worked nicely in the evening light. The second one was to give an idea of just how bumper a crop it is this year, the vine has never had so many grapes on it. They aren't wine grapes though, so no bottle for them. Grape jelly is more likely, along with grapes in salads, grapes with cheese and crackers, grapes by themselves for lunch. That is, if the birds don't get them first. It's hard to wait.

The lighting on the first one is spot on. Really makes the grapes stand out.
