That would be a fun photo to PP play with on the computer. Take the modern boats out and move the two fighting boats closer together. Ok, I have too much time on my hands.

That seems so bizarre in this age but it is truly a great example of what must have been common during the age of the rivalry between European nations on the oceans of the world. Lovely capture.

I should play with it some, getting rid of the modern ships would be pretty simple with photoshop.

I don't think these ships are based out of Oceanside any more, they haven't been there the past couple of times I've been down there. They may have been moved to San Diego or elsewhere on the West Coast. I'm now sorry I didn't take the opportunity to go out on one.

Nice shot. There is one that comes to the bay area. It stays in one area for a while then moves either up or down the coast. It comes around once a year and you can book a day sail. You can also book over night trips when it is being moved on along the coast.
