Default Cold: Live from Chicago!

I took this shot this afternoon, kneeling on the sidewalk in front of the apartment building I live in.

(It's been so long since I posted, I forgot how to do it!)

Wow! That's a bunch of snow! And it looks really cold, too. Hope you are staying warm and safe.

Looks like one of the streets I walked down during my years I Chicago. God, that's a frosty scene.

Thanks for your comments, mtngal and selvin.

It's not quite as bad as it looks in that picture, but we have gotten a fair amount of snow this year.

Sadly, it was in the 20s when I took this and that felt relatively balmy, compared to some of the temps we've experienced this winter. Tomorrow's high is supposed to be about 7-degrees F.

Ouch. Reminds me of my 6 years there in grad school (U of C) and work. Can't say I miss it.

You know, Walter, I can't say that I'd miss it either if I moved to a warmer climate! I grew up on the northeast coast and I've lived in this area for over 30-years, so I'm used to winter. This one has been somewhat brutal, though; I can't wait until spring! Of course, I'm not as young as I used to be!

Heh heh! That would be nice, Calicajun! For better or worse, one of the hats I wear for this small group of apartment buildings is that I'm the Senior VP of Snow Removal. Thank God for snow blowers!

As Senior VP of snow removal does that mean you get to take off when it's not winter and there's no snow? Just wondering.
