i think it would break the rule and be a better composition "rule" breaker if you added one much smaller (maybe bright colored) shoe right in the middle....

hope this helps

What rule ? There is no rules - I thought you understood!
You're avoiding the point.

Or how about a red handkerchief? The gentleman would have to pick it up for the lady. Assuming we're looking at a gentleman and a lady, that is.

Barbara,
This photo immediately made me think of that Shania Twain song, "Whose bed have your boots been under?" (that's the musician in me coming through).

Go for it!

You know something? I'm beginning to feel rather good about that photo. If people can each bring their own ideas into it, then I've had a bit of success. (In the meantime, them's the husband's boots in the photo, and they better stay on his feet or in the closet! )

barbara.
Maybe I don't understand!

You take a shot. Put the grid in it and analyse it. Or the other way around. Why exactly that grid or photo - there's lots of "rules" of composure! If you put the 50/50 split rule - it works well...

Maybe it's the language barrier, I don't know!

PM on the way Klaus, only because I don't want to go off on a tangent in this thread. See you in a moment...

There is such a feeling of intrigue in this picture. . .or at least a whispered conversation. No broken rules though. Awesome amount of thought behind it. Way Good Job.

Thank you, Suzan. (Is it really spelled with a 'z'?) I took a full "roll" of pictures to get just one I could work with. I'll be so proud the day a start consistently getting two workable photos in a roll.
