Thanks folks. Regarding the last photo there is no way that anyone can be that good with timing. I would really love to claim I am but I would be lying. I shot this with about a 420 mm lens so I cannot even see both planes at the same time. You get to where you time the shot by following one plane and then listening to the sound from the other plane and then just machine gun the shutter when they sound like the are converging. This was with a D800 so the frames per second were about 4. It also will stall when the buffer fills up due to the large file sizes.

I got lucky. I did not even know that I got the shot until eating lunch after the show.

In that last shot....is that how they make hang gliders and other small planes?
