Default Nighttime: Snow Camping On Mt Hood

Here is an older picture, but I will get a new picture this weekend. Too bad it is a super moon, a little bright to capture the subtleties of night. I find a quarter moon side lit on Mt Hood gives great contrast at night.

f/8, 140 second exposure, 400 iso

Nicely captured night scene. The tent lends a little warmth to an otherwise cold picture. I like it, but that kind of camping isn't for the faint of heart.

Thanks, this was my first attempt at night photography. Now I keep it to 30 second exposures so I don't get stars tracking.
This snow camping site is only a two mile snowshoe trip from a snow-park on Mt Hood, not too tough if you have the right equipment for the conditions.
With a little creme de cacao added to our hot chocolate, We stay quite warm.

Haha! Being raised in Florida, I am acclimatized to heat and humidity. I do real poorly in the cold!

edit: Almost forgot...I was going to say, that picture might be kinda neat with star trails. Never know, unless you've done it, and didn't like it??
