Default I think I broke something...

ok, so I don't know if I should post this here, because A) I have no idea what I'm doing and B) I already posted this once in the closeups forum, but it seems to work and this forum seems like a good place to develop my skills, so let me know what you think so I can get better.
thanks, NoahG
ps... its the hub of an "antique" (nice word for junk) hay rake in the blackberries outside my home.

My eye says you broke the rule of thirds, which means you actually met the challenge.

Mind you now, this is just a matter of taste: I would have preferred this not be a close-up so that it could be better seen as it really is--being taken over by nature. Doubtless, others will disagree with me, and because it's a matter of taste, their opinions will be just as valid.

(But I'm still the Grand Poobah! )

Personally, I don't think that would taste good...that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Default so in succeeding....

I failed. j/k... actually originally I took it as a study in the texures, but they didn't translate well when I downsized it. I still have as much to learn about post processing as I do composition. once the weather clears up again and I finally have some more time off, I'll see if I can't get a good shot of it as a whole. hopefully I can get better challenge by challenge.

No, no, no. Failing the rule of thirds succeeds. A photo that meets the rule of thirds fails. See it's so easy. A failure succeeds, one who succeeds fails. That clear it up for you.
