Default Holiday Memories - Santa's Hat

Growing up Dad would be "Santa" and hand out the presents under the tree. It was a holiday tradition in the family.

Once my father passed away, my husband Dan wore the hat and continued the tradition. He was Santa for 12 years.

Last year, after Dan passed away, my niece's fiance (now husband) did the honors:

This year my sister has a significant other in her life, and he took over.

Precious holiday memories are created by such things as this.

Thanks! I have a picture of my father in the hat but have never scanned it. I never really thought about the significance of the hat and how it has been worn by the various men in our family until this year. And that's really what holiday memories are all about, family and sharing the gifts in our lives.
