My dad passed away Monday after 91 years. That's me on the right at 3 1/2.

Hope you guys don't mind me posting this.

A tough time, losing someone who's close to you, it's not something that you "get over" in a week or a month or a year. You'll always remember him, and especially during the holidays. Remember him with gratitude for all the wonderful times you had with him over your life, for the gifts he gave you and for all you learned from him.

Your words are very much appreciated, thank you.

My brother and I have been looking over old pictures to use as a slide show for
the calling hours on Friday and this one made me smile.

Again thanks,

Jim

Jim, I'm sorry for your loss. I hope being with family and sharing memories helps you through this very difficult time.

I lost my dad in November, his birthday was January first.

So sorry to hear Jim. I lost my dad in 2002, and I think about him daily. Grief is a highly personal emotion. Some take longer than others, some never quit grieving. I lost my mom at 92 on October 10, and I have good days and bad. You can't put a time limit on it. I will pray for you.

Robert and Calicajun, thank you for the comments.

In his 91 years he did a lot of good things for many people.

He was one of the estimated 1000 individuals still alive in the US that participated in the D-Day invasion.
