Default Shadows

Shadows give a feeling of shape and dimension to objects. They can define what you are looking at, or give you an abstract pattern.

Thanks! If I get a chance this weekend I'll post a different example-one with shadows and the same subject without.

The middle shots with desert potholes(?) is really striking. Any idea what they are?

They aren't potholes, they are my footprints. All three of these pictures were taken on the sand dunes in Death Valley and the sand was really soft.

Think the second photo is my favorite. Beautiful in it's simplicity.

Thanks! Looking at these pictures makes me want to go back and spend more time walking through the dunes, maybe even try to go to the top of the one in the first photo. Don't know if I have that much energy any more - it's a fair distance and going up in such soft sand is really hard work!
