Default Evidence: Where is the other one?

This has had me worried for the last 3 weeks. Where is the other wellie, and its owner?

Just around the corner was this scene, at the River Dee, the English-Welsh Border, on 9Feb04....

Default Wet Evidence

I will give you high marks for evidence - boot, tire tread marks, and a scrap of paper trash. As to the wellie, I suspect the other one was lost at Waterloo.

Have you tried to convert the image of the River Dee to black and white? This scene reminds of several of Andree Kertesz landscapes - nice shot

Alan, it's a wonderful photo that's filled with mysterious evidence and a lot of humor. Love it.

Your second photo is a bonus, not only giving us an idea of the surrounding environment for the above evidence--always important in detection--but also because it's a nice photo all on its own.

Well actually, the original is much nearer to monochrome than than this. I've enhanced the saturation to try and brighten it a little.

Well, it comes around every year or two. Last time it flooded (2001?) I took some striking frames of the row of poplars in the background, and my daughter made dramatic paintings from them which were (maybe still are) displayed in her nearby high school. This was pre-digicam, so I can't show you right now, until I find them.

Have there been any UFO sightings? It could be an explanation for the missing boot.

That boot is like an exclamation mark in the middle of a paragraph without words. Then you provide the entire essay in the next photo, giving a context for the exclamatory, but nothing more. You little tease you!

Wonderful!
