Default Evidence

I have no idea if this will work - I am a newbie and I tried to follow the directions, even PM'd a question about how to do it (got no answer) so I'm going to give it a go anyway... My other choice for this post was someone actually digging through a dumpster tonight but I (and the camera in the darkness) wasn't quick enough to capture it. I got the dumpster with a blur.

OK - I tried this about 8 times with different hostings. This is only a link, not an "embed" so I hope it's OK. Anyone who can offer help, I'd appreciate it! Using the "img" tag with no spaces gets me just a little white box with a red "X."

WOW - the quality of the photo is really crappy! I'm almost ready to give up. I don't want to, tho!

It's not working. It looks as if your album on Ofoto is private. This blocks the ability to post from there. Is there a setting that you can change to make the album public?

I don't believe Ofoto allows linking but you should be able to copy the address and refer.

I'm sorry - I don't understand. I tried it a few times different ways. I did copy the address. What do you mean by refer? Perhaps I am just not "up" to this forum.

Are you sure you are using the correct address? I went to:

http://www.snapfish.com/AlbumID=11205669/t_=7329523

and got a message that the page does not exist.

Yes you are! I think it's Ofoto that's not up to this forum. There are a number of photo storage sites that you can use, even if it's just for the purpose of storing photos to post here, and some are free. Off the top of my head, what comes to mind are ImageStation, Photobucket, and Fotopic. Maybe someone else can add others to this list.

Do NOT give up!

imagestation does not allow linking to other site anymore. Photobucket is the easiest. You don't even have to use [img] it is already oart of the link. Just copy and paste into your message. Image station changed without notifing any one. I had a lot of posts lost. If ou have trouble pm me and I will walk you thru it.

Thank you, guys! I really appreciate it! I'm at work now but I hope to check out all the venues you've mentioned, later today, when I get a break.

The OP is using SnapFish. But I don't think that's the issue. I tried going to the URL in a new browser window and got a "404". See my post above.

Monkey, try this:

Go to your hosting service and when the picture is displayed right click on it. Then select properties. Then where you see "address" cut and paste that into the body of your post surrounded by the IMG tags, like so:

Code:
[img]http://www.steves-digicams.com/banners/sandisk_holiday03.gif[/img]
Will get you this:

Ok, I see what's going on.... the hosting service is not allowing you direct access to the image file. If you notice when you look at the image properties, the URL does not link directly to the file. If it did, then it would look something like the example above. Notice how my example URL ends in ".gif" Try a different image hosting company, or just supply us with the URL of the image and we'll go take a look at the image.
