Default Evidence - Campsite

From the burnt wood, it's an obvious campsite, but by the empty sinkers package, and discarded hook remover, you know it was at a lake or pond.

Reminds me of those signs sometimes seen in break rooms - "Pick up after yourself - your Mother doesn't work here!"

That's a photo you can read like a story. Campfire, people around it with at least one who smoked, someone who might have been restless that night because of the caffeine in Coke, a question as to whether or not they ate fish for supper, and one more thing, a thing that can't be read, only remembered: the odor of a campfire long gone cold.

Nice one, Jack.

The items were left after the fire had been long put out.

Chopper, you're right. Obvious, isn't it? This isn't the picture I wanted to get, but rain delays pressed me for time, so I had to set up the shot. I was gonna get one not set up, but it didn't work out that way. Still, it was only partly setup, and I think it met the challenge.

Yes, I agree it meets the challenge. I look at this picture and think of times I have spent around a campfire telling and listening to stories and it is because of those times I know that those items wouldn’t be so shinny and new looking, except of course for the hook puller. Now I hope you didn’t smoke all those cigarettes at once to set up your shot.

 No Chopper, I didn't smoke all those at once. In fact, I figured besides the shine of the can, that the cigarrette butts are the most telling clue of a set up. See how their crumpled, as if put out in an ashtray. You know when we're camping, we just flip 'em into the fire.

I like the picture, even if it was setup.
It reminds me of what I find a lot of the time when heading out camping and canoeing. People tend to not cleanup and leave their junk behind.
It is really getting hard to find new and unspoiled places to mess up.
