Default Image statement

The image makes a statement. It is a difficult subject for most of us but the unopened roses have a story.

Expanding on Rod's statement, they are "unopenable" roses. However, if you think about it, it doesn't matter if he knew they were plastic or not--though I'll bet he did--because, when we take a photo, we're either trying to show something we know or to elicit a response in the viewer, or, maybe, both. You succeeded. You've got enough evidence in this photo to draw out multiple responses in people, and that is what this challenge was all about. Good work.

Very nice! I like the perspective. The center of interest is right up front without being boring - at the convergence of the paths. There's a randomness (in the roses) and meticulous order (headstones) The paradox works well, I think

I think this photo in b&w with some deep contrast would be very powerful.

A powerful image...

It speaks quietly, yet the voice booms.

Many folks left remembrances of loved ones now gone...somewhere
a duty bound caretaker removed them to "clean up".

It makes me think of a quote attributed to the late Robert F. Kennedy:

"Some see things as they and ask, 'Why'?"
"I dream of things that never were...and say, 'Why not'?"

So, "veritable saint", perhaps these flowers could be rescued...and
grace the rooms of those ill in a hospital.

Memories of those gone will then serve those still here.

Just a thought...

The B&W is striking but I like Veritable Saint's original color shot better. The colors are muted enough to be striking, yet add a softness expressing life for those of us still on this side, I think. There's a gentle reminder of life, in death. IMHO.

Default You speak well

Digicamfan:

If I may use the Arthurian phrase, "You speak well."
