This was the original:



and here is the b&W:



i ve used: curves, channel mixer/monochrome: 40 red, 40 green, 20 blue
and then i ve added a bit of blue in colour balance.

Here's a case where both versions look good, though that b&w has a bit of an edge over the color version, I think.

this is a cool shot! i personally think it looks better in B/W....but that is just me...
